Halle Berry Blasts a Twitter User for Their Ageist Remarks After They Mistaken the Actress for Halle

Halle Berry recently discovered herself in the heart of unwarranted feedback after a fan mistook the actress for Halle Bailey.

Bailey, who could also be a member of the making a song group ChloexHalle, is starring in the live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.” The 22-year-old will painting the character Ariel. On Sept. 9, Bailey and “The Little Mermaid” began making headlines after Disney released the movie’s teaser trailer.

In the clip, Bailey is seen swimming in the ocean and making a song a slowed-down rendition of “Part of Your World.” Following the trailer’s liberate, fanatics voiced their critiques about it. Although many were fascinated about the upcoming film, others weren’t inspired.

On Sept. 10, a Twitter used named @sucidesportif tried to criticize the live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid” when they mixed up Berry and Bailey’s names. That individual wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “Halle Berry is nearly 60 playing the position of a 16-year-old lady. This is what occurs whilst you disenchanted a fandom.”

A short while later, Berry shared a caption-less picture of a stale-faced Mo’Nique when the comedian used to be internet hosting “Flavor of Love: Charm School.”

As the Twitter interplay went viral, numerous users claimed that they puzzled Berry and Bailey’s names at one point. At the same time, others expressed that they didn’t understand why people couldn’t inform the difference between both actresses.

Despite the mix-up, this isn’t the first time Bailey has faced backlash for her position in “The Little Mermaid.” In 2019, after Disney introduced that Bailey used to be enjoying Ariel, the superstar used to be met with racial comments, and the hashtag #notmyariel began trending. 

The negative reaction stemmed from some people feeling that the studio will have to’ve given the role to any person who bodily resembled the animated personality. In 1989’s “The Little Mermaid,” Ariel was once white with red hair and blue eyes. 

The Little Mermaid” live-action reboot is set to hit theaters in May 2023.
